Iceland
Iceland
Best months: Jul, Jun, Aug, May
Iceland is not a place you go to train — it's a place you go to be transformed. The Ring Road circles the island through some of the most alien landscapes on earth: active volcanoes, geysers, black sand beaches, and glacial rivers. Traffic is minimal, drivers are respectful, and the sense of adventure is total. The weather is notoriously changeable even in summer, and the wind can be brutal, but that's part of the appeal. Very expensive and very worth it for those seeking something genuinely different.
